Hike at Kaloko-Honokohau National Historical Park

Neil Edelman is visiting us in Kona, Hawaii. On Tuesday, July 24, Neil and Jackie went on a walk through the Hawaiian Heritage site at Kalako-Honokohau, a state park. We went North along the beach. Here are some of the highlights of the day:
Hiking off towards Kalako Fish Pond
Cooling my feet in the waves on the Black Coral Sand Beach
Neil walking the wall which keeps the waves out of the fish pond
This tree, right at high tide level, has a maze of salt water worn branches; a beautiful pinkish color.
We watched as these Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles (Honu) dragged themselves up on the beach to rest.
