Hello
y'all and Merry Christmas.
Collecting eggs; Those chickens are laying about 30 eggs per day.
We’re
sitting in the rain on the side of a mountain outside of San Rafael in Costa
Rica, Central America. Yes, you are right; we don’t have to shovel it. J Our most
recent blog is called: Why We Do What We Do and has lots of photos. Check it
out below.
Our
travels, in serving the Lord, have taken us many amazing and wonderful places over
the last five years. The around-the-world portion of our marriage journey will
soon come to an end. It has been wonderful! We have, however, lost some monthly
income which we cannot function in the field without. So ...
Our plan is to
return to Chilliwack, B.C. Canada. We will depart from JUCUM (YWAM) Heredia at
the end of March 2017. Thus we will be able to serve the next E.A.R.S.
(Environmental And Resource Stewardship) school before we depart. Once settled
in BC, Jackie will work and John will apply for permanent residency.
Having
been in the mission field has taught us how to live frugally and carefully, to
work together as a team and be thankful, content and full of joy in all
circumstances. We are certain that with John's social security and what Jackie can
earn we’ll be able to continue serving The Eternal King for many years to come.
There are many strong Christian churches in the Chilliwack area and we are sure
Father will lead us to the one He wants us to participate and serve with.
Not
being "in the field" will be a difficult transition for us. Re-entry
is in many ways the hardest part of being a missionary. There is not a day that
we do not think about and pray for many of the faithful servants we have worked
with and left behind. Jet lag is something you get over in a few days or a week
at most. Heart Lag is a longer process. Thank you to all of you dear friends and
family who hold us up in prayer and who have given financially when there were
overwhelming needs.
Our
emails remain the same. We’ll update our blog:
as our future adventures unfold. We hope that you will pray, with us and for us, that our
Father will continue to use us in any way He chooses to further His kingdom on
this earth.
Thank
you to all who have already sent us your newsletters for 2016. We do so enjoy catching up with you! We look forward
to seeing all you West Coast folks in early April. Until then, please keep in
touch and have
a Very Merry Christmas + a Happy New Year 2017.
With
all our love and with great respect,
John & Jackie in Costa Rica
