On our daily walks during our week in Vancouver with Laura and her dogs, just for the fun of it, I snapped photos of every kind of leaf I could find. I am always so impressed with the variety in colors, shapes and sizes. See if you can tell me what kind of trees these 14 piles of leaves came from before they fell. :-) I don't think there are duplicates - but there might be!

December 2015's email - A Bit Delayed!
For the past two months I, Jackie, have been trying to post this and other news to this blog. I just couldn't sign in to Blogger! Finally, today, I sat down and stubbornly went through every techy, nerdy, incomprehensible section of Blogger's sites and figured out that I actually was trying to sign in with John's g-mail account instead of mine. Dah! Who'd a thunk! Problem solved: We're back! So here is last December's Newsletter in case you didn't receive it. Let me know if you want to get onto our list for our mailings. Enjoy!

The Christmas Story:
Luke 2:7 ... and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.
John 1:9-13 ... The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.
John 8:12 ... When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Merry
Christmas and a Happy New Year too!
Feliz Navidad y un Feliz Año Nuevo también!

We arrived at our new home, at YWAM - JUCUM in Heredia,
Costa Rica on Saturday, December 19th. Actually it is up the mountain from
San Rafael. Here is a photo I took of the Creek Cabin; our new home. The living
room is behind the deck, the bedroom has one window and ties the bathroom to
the living room and the bathroom is hiding in the foliage of the trees.

The cabin has needed some "attention" so we have been busy with
renovations. We are thankful to tell you that there is no lack of work to be
done here at YWAM-JUCUM, Heredia! :-) We've been getting to know
some of the staff. Most, however, have gone off to visit their families. We
look forward to meeting and getting to know them as they trickle back in
January. The days have been delightfully cool, sunny and windy with some cloud
and rain showers. The nights hover around 63 degrees F. We are grateful
for the down duvet we bought just before leaving Chilliwack. :-)
The two months
since leaving Cambodia have been quite the adventure; but we sure miss our
friends there! First was our weeklong visit with friends at YWAM Kona.
Then up to Vancouver where we spent a delightful week with Laura. While staying
with Richard and Jo-Anne in Chilliwack, we made a trip down to Yakima, Spokane,
Seattle, Kingston and Mount Vernon to visit family and friends. Until the very
last day, our trip was filled with people whom we love and were so pleased to
reconnect with. Next we spent 3 lovely but uneventful weeks in Belize. Neither of us want to ever go on a "vacation" again. We had nothing to do except sit around, read, get to know a few of the people staying there and go for walks. :-)
We
have so many questions; so much to learn; so many people to get to know; a new
language and culture; a new town, area and country to get to know. We hope we
will fit in and be of good service. When you think of us please pray that we
will be directed to do and say and be a reflection of the Light for whom we are ambassadors.
What has been the highlight for you this past
year? What are your hopes and dreams for 2016? For now, the only way
to contact us is through email or send a letter to the address below. Soon we
hope to purchase cell phones and give you our phone numbers. :-)
So! There you have it! Please, keep in
touch. You know, we love to hear from you.
With all our Love and Respect,
Jackie & John

A lifetime of memories now resides
on a "stick". After 3 years on the other side of the world, it is
wonderful to be able to pull up a photo any time I wish. Would any of you like to see any particular
photos?
